Non-Permitted Events

Skatepark of Baltimore, Inc., has been getting lots of calls and emails lately about bands wishing to play at the park, as well as complaints from community members about unpermitted music events disturbing the peace and detracting from overall enjoyment of the park.

Our nonprofit does not book shows at the skatepark. We do 100% support arts and music in the park, however we ask that organizers get a permit.

The skatepark is owned and operated by the City of Baltimore’s Department of Recreation and Parks, in order to protect the longevity and overall enjoyment of the Park we ask that users abide by Baltimore City Park rules.

Anyone wishing to organize or host an event at the skatepark, (or anywhere else in a Baltimore City Park,) that involves amplified sound, is required to get a permit from the City of Baltimore. The number and type of permits you need will depend on what you were trying to do. For example, if you are selling alcohol, having vendors or serving food, you may need additional permits.

Special Events are all public events in a City park with over 200 participants. You can apply for a special events permit here:

If your special event will use amplified sound or play music that may disturb other members of the community, you are required to request a Temporary Noise Exemption from the Baltimore City Health Commissioner.
